It was well written and made sense. We are all unique. We need to stop comparing ourselves to the models and people who post only their happiest moments on Facebook. To be honest, I never really liked buff guys anyway. Give me my Dr. Who nerds anyway that I can have an intellectual conversation while laughing in a restaurant.

I agree that competition in life is a thief of happiness. It all comes down to two things in life: how self-confident and happy a person is with her/his life. It takes time to build self-confidence, as well as to create the life we enjoy (there are bumps on this road, no doubt, in forms of various adversities and setbacks, but which shouldn’t hinder us). Still, when we got both, there is no need to make any comparisons, and feel in competition or threatened by their lifestyle, by anybody. Only self-doubting and insecure people are prone to making comparisons with others. All the beauty industry makes enormous profits on targeting this vanity (=insecurity/self-doubts with appearance) in humans (especially women).

“I’m not here to say life isn’t easier if you’re beautiful, fit, and rich.” I only partly agree with this statement. I think life is easier when you are authentic: when you are the same person privately and publicly. It’s challenging to keep up the public image for a long time, which is not in congruence with the private personality. You know, living the life such as of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” comes with a price: depression, anxiety, various sorts of addictions, which very often ends in committing suicide (especially of the celebrities). Sure, being beautiful or handsome and having money can make life easier, but they don’t guarantee happiness in (love) life.

Being authentic, self-confident and happy in our skin, we glow differently, and that attracts the same sort of people in our (love) life. And I am a firm believer, that, when the time is right, love finds us. No searching for love or forcing connections can bring about real love; it happens and grows naturally.

Stephen it’s like you are talking directly to me! I have fallen along the way at the same direction like you are decribing in your post. Yes I want to obtain that kind of lifestyle and relationship and status! Couldn’t even recognize myself anymore, because lately I am talking only about business and plans for the business, I guess family and friends get bored arround me. And recently i started to acknowledge this I was thinking how can I change it, I was searching for an answer and then boom, your blog post came at the exact time! You gave me clear perspective now, on to how to continue my jurney! I will not give up my business of course, because it is my passion..but I will also focus on the important things you talk about in the article. The reason why I went that way is not only the lifestyle, it was the purpose of making people happy on the first place. That’s why I started the jurney of etsablishing the online jewelry store, because I want to give something special and be a part of the special moments of people. So I should focus on that rather than the idea of achieving the freedom lifestyle. And yes instead of searching for guy I am more likely to start to work on myself, which I already do with your help.:) Thank you again Stephen for the huge support and the answers you always give to my questions! Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
Plami
